Those of us whose work takes us into the fields will know that this has been a very, very wet autumn and start to winter. The surface of the ground is sodden, slippery and damaged by as little as a wellington boot. Nonetheless our amazing landowners, farmers and keepers have allowed to carry on across their ground even though we hunt trails and are no longer able to offer a vermin control service. These folk are truly terrific. Hats off to one and all!
While those who are distanced from country life are ill-informed about the obscured community that grows their food, stewards the countryside, cares passionately for wildlife and is passionate about heritage we carry on in the face of a media onslaught.
